    Plaquenil is also an antirheumatic medicine and is used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid or systemic lupus erythematosus. This medicine is not effective against all strains of malaria.

    hello hope everyone is welljust a quick question, i have been on methotrexate for 2 months increasing from 7.5 to 15 and now to 25mg.weekly now been given plaquenil 400mg daily, has anyone else been on this mixture and has it worked or how long should i wait to see if it works.i'm not expecting it to work over night but soon hopefullyi am still in so much pain everyday and hoping for some relieve soon.     Side effects plaquenil/methotrexate. rheumatoid GI problems such as nausea and vomiting are the most common side effects associated with methotrexate, affecting between 20and 65 percent of RA patients who take the drug.
